Welcome Presenters

The Call for Proposals for MEC 2010 is now closed.

Thank you to everyone who has submitted a proposal for MEC 2010. The proposals will be reviewed by the MEC 2010 Selection Committee, and acceptance notification will be sent via email on December 1, 2009.

Based upon input from past presenters and attendees, along with attention to current and emerging policies and practices, presentations will reflect one or more of the following program tracks:

TRACK 1: Learning and Technology

Includes all aspects of technology use in the learning environment with the following strands:

  • Professional Development
  • e-Learning, Online Courses
  • Open Source Initiatives and projects
  • Curriculum Integration, STEM Education
  • New and emerging equipment and resources
  • Geographic Information Systems, (GIS, GPS)
  • Art, Music, Digital Video and Photography

TRACK 2: Current Issues, Emerging Trends and Solutions

Includes technology-related concerns encountered by administrators in educational systems, promising practices that utilize technology and efficient solutions.

  • Universal Access
  • Security and Controls
  • Innovative School Reform
  • Troubleshooting/Planning
  • Social Networking, Engagement and Collaboration

TRACK 3: Leadership and Accountability

Addresses the role of technology in school improvement including leadership training, technology infrastructure, curriculum guidelines and equity issues.

  • Research and Theory
  • Resources for Teachers
  • Equity issues and policy
  • Career Technical Education, (CTE)
  • Innovative and effective classroom assessment strategies
  • Opportunities for technology-related industrial training
  • Planning and funding technology initiatives/Grant writing
  • Partnerships between colleges, school districts, communities, and businesses
  • District-wide Implementation Strategies
  • Stimulus Funding

Track 4: Multimedia to Enhance Learning

Comprises innovative hardware, software, and technological strategies to enhance learning in today’s world.

  • Educational Gaming

  • Emerging and Future Educational Technology
  • Technology-enabled learning environments, (blogs, & wiki’s)
