ERIC (the Educational/Recycling Information Center) will be making an appearance at MEC 2010! ERIC will be on site on Tuesday, March 16.
The City of Tempe was awarded a grant from Arizona Department of Environmental Quality for the development of a mobile recycling education center. The project was partially funded by ADEQ’s Waste Reduction Initiative Through Education grant, for projects that educate Arizona citizens about waste reduction, recycling and how to properly dispose of waste.

The iCademy Program offers a unique project-based learning experience for Arizona students and teachers. The goal of the program is to encourage diverse groups of students to enter into a statewide multimedia dialogue about Arizona. Working individually (photographic essay) or in teams of two to five (Digital Story), students in third grade through high school have the opportunity to capture the stories of Arizona’s people and places.
Join us on Monday March 15th from 2:45 to 3:45 in Coor 174 for the iCademy presentation and award ceremony. See highlights from the films that were submitted and interact with the young film makers. Join in a discussion about the direction of iCademy and future themes. With Arizona’s Centennial celebration on the horizon we would like to identify a better way to collect stories and projects about Arizona. There will be snacks and a chance to win an iPod Touch.
