Join Adobe’s Senior Solution Engineer for Education, Rick Miller, for an all-day hands on training session on Photoshop CS4. Topics covered will be Photoshop CS4 workflows for photography, print, and web.

This is an all-day workshop (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM) on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, and includes a Continental Breakfast.

Space is limited, so sign up ASAP! The cost for the workshop is $160. However, if you also attend MEC 2009, you can attend the Adobe workshop at a discounted rate of $120*!

Participants also qualify to win a copy of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom!

Opening Night Reception at Macayo’s Depot Cantina!

Join CCS Presentation Systems for their annual Opening Night Reception celebrating MEC 2009! 
This year’s festivities feature dinner at Macayo’s Depot Cantina - 300 South Ash Avenue, downtown Tempe from 5PM-8PM. 

Old fashioned trolleys will transport MEC attendees from outside the Coor Building to the reception and back again.

Visit the CCS booth during MEC 09 for a trolley schedule and updated details.

Discounts Available for Groups of 10 or More

Are you an Administrator or Technology Coordinator wanting to register a group of teachers or other staff members? You may be eligible for a large discount when you register!

If you register a group of ten or more for MEC 2009, a discount of $25 will be applied to every registrant in the group. That is a total discount of at least $250!

To register a group, choose the option for group registration, and register the main contact first. Once you reach ten attendees, the discount will be applied.

Podcasting 101: From Idea to Publication

We are excited to announce Podcasting 101: From Idea to Publication, an all day podcasting workshop put on by the Applied Learning Technologies Institute, on Wednesday, March 11 as part of MEC 2009!

Interested in creating podcasts for your classroom or your school system but do not know where to start? Start here! All you in need is an interest in creating purpose podcasts for teachers and students. During the workshop we will go from idea to script to published podcast. You are encouraged to attend with a partner. Learn how you can share podcasts through Arizona iTunesU K-12.

Announcing Game Fest 2009!

Game Fest 2009

We are proud to present Game Fest at MEC 2009 on Tuesday, March 10 at Coor Hall! Game Fest 2009 will include a Keynote and four sessions that will show participants how to design and use digital games in an educational setting.

These sessions are available at no extra cost, but space is limited. You can sign up when you register for MEC 2009.

The schedule for Game Fest 09 is as follows:

Tuesday, March 10th

8:00 am - 9:00 am – Keynote: Dennis Tarwood, Pearson Digital Learning

* Applying Games to Teach Science and Math, a Computer Scientist’s Perspective

10:00 am - 11:00 pm – Ashish Amresh, Lecturer, ASU School of Computing and Informatics, Camp Game Director

* Make a Game in 30 minutes Using GameMaker 7.0

11:00 pm - 12:00 pm – Ara Shirinian, Game Designer

* Using Unreal 3.0 Engine to Teach High School Students Commercial Level Design

12:45 pm - 1:45 pm – Arnaud Ehgner, Associate Professor, University of Advancing Technologies

* Introductions to Digital Art in Video Games

1:45 pm – 5:00 pm - Game Production Pipeline Workshop. Apply concepts learnt during the sessions to work in teams and create an interactive working game prototype.
